On the 10th of September Flen Health will host a webinar with podiatrist Kim Wilde on the topic of enhancing self-care and patient adherence in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers.
Kim Wilde has been practicing as a podiatrist for 24 years and has been specialised in high-risk foot services for over 18 years. She is an independent prescriber and has recently joined the academic team at Salford University to teach a module in pharmacology to undergraduate podiatry students, and non-medical prescribing to postgraduates.
Kim is passionate about encouraging self-management in the treatment of chronic wounds and empowering patients to become more involved in their care. Kim has published two papers on the benefits of patient self-management in wound care and is eager to carry out further research in this field. She also developed a chair-based exercise leaflet in her last position in the NHS and collaborated with the Manchester Health & Wellbeing Service to create an exercise class for patients with ongoing foot ulcers.
